Attended a concert in Caldas da Rainha

Jan 14 Depart for 6 week winter break in Malaysia and Singapore

Feb 25 Return from Malaysia/Singapore - suitably tanned, but exhausted from long flight. It 'aint 'arf cold 'ere!

Mar 17 Day trip to Sintra

Mar 25 Went to Leiria to watch football match Portugal v Bulgaria

Mar 29 Went to Leiria to watch football match Portugal v Belgium

Mar 31 Visit to Almoural castle and Railway Museum at Entroncamento

April 8 - April 11 Went by train to Porto for 2 nights, then to Aveiro for 1 night before returning home.

June 16 Coach trip to Mafra to see the royal palace and then to the Tapada nature park nearby to see their birds of prey in action.

September 15  Visit to the palace of the Marquis of Pombal at Oeiras, followed by a walk through the Parque dos Poetas nearby.

September 22  Short 3 day trip to UK, to visit Rebecca.

November 13  Our first grandchild - Isabel Lily - is born (8lb). Well done Rebecca!

November 29  Birthday lunch for Lynne with friends at the restaurant O Cabeco, Alcobaca.

Dec 24  Visit to UK to meet Isabel (Rebecca and Andy as well).
